This cover fits GM/Chevrolet HD 2500 & 3500 2001 to present trucks.
Even though your truck has 12 bolts around the cover, this is the cover that fits. The top and bottom bolts have been replaced with a temperature sending port and a drain plug.
Your Rear
differential takes a lot of punishment. The entire load of your
vehicle is carried where the pinion contacts the ring gear. Add the
weight of the trailer to the mix and the stresses on this part of the
vehicle are incredible. It's a good idea to keep the fluid cool and
keep it fresh. American Axle specifies that you change the fluid every 15000 miles for the severe duty cycle that almost everyone falls under! Mag-Hytec has covers that make maintaining this part of
your truck much easier than with the stock parts. With the extra
capacity the covers offer, you have more fluid to carry the
contaminants and maintain a lower temperature.
With a stock cover, you
have to remove all the bolts from the cover, remove the gasket, watch
the shower of differential oil splash into the pan, bolt everything
back up and refill with fluid horizontally through the fill hole in the cover. With a Mag-Hytec, you remove the drain
plug, replace the drain plug, refill vertically through the dipstick hole and
check the level on the stick. It's a much cleaner process.
- When you install a Mag-Hytec on your truck, you take the gasket off of the truck for the last time.
- Most of the covers come with an O-ring that seals without using RTV or replacing the gasket.
- The drain plug has a magnet to capture metal particles.
- The covers are
shipped with a stainless plug in a 1/8" pipe thread hole that can be
used to mount a temperature sending unit to monitor temperature.
- The hardware that comes with these covers is stainless steel in most applications.
- All Mag-Hytec parts are covered by a lifetime limited warranty to the original owner and the O-ring is guaranteed for 5 years.
There are many advantages to running a Mag-Hytec, and the side benefit is that they look great under your truck!
